Uses:

Dutasteride and Tamsulosin is a combination medication used to treat benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) in men with an enlarged prostate. It helps to relieve symptoms like difficulty in urination, weak stream, and frequent urination by reducing the size of the enlarged prostate and relaxing the muscles in the prostate and bladder.

Side Effects:

Serious side effects may include:

Light-headedness, fainting
Painful or prolonged erection lasting 4 hours or longer
Allergic reactions: hives, difficulty breathing, swelling in the face or throat, severe skin reactions
Common side effects include:

Decreased libido (sex drive)
Decreased amount of semen released during sex
Impotence (difficulty in getting or maintaining an erection)
Breast tenderness or enlargement
Dizziness
Runny nose

Warnings:

Not for Use by Women or Children: Dutasteride and Tamsulosin should never be handled or taken by women, children, or teenagers. Dutasteride can be absorbed through the skin and may cause birth defects.
Allergic Reactions: Do not use if allergic to Dutasteride, Finasteride, Tamsulosin, or similar medications.
Increased Risk of Prostate Cancer: Use of this medication may increase the risk of developing prostate cancer. Discuss this risk with your doctor.
Pupil Changes: Inform your surgeon if you need eye surgery, as the medication can affect your pupils.
Before Taking:
Do not use this medication if:

You are taking Tamsulosin (Flomax) or similar medicines like Alfuzosin, Doxazosin, Prazosin, Silodosin, or Terazosin.
You are allergic to Dutasteride, Finasteride, or Tamsulosin.
Tell your doctor if you have:

High or low blood pressure
Liver or kidney disease
Prostate cancer
An allergy to sulfa drugs
Dosage Information:
Usual Adult Dose for Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia:

Dutasteride 0.5 mg and Tamsulosin 0.4 mg taken orally once a day, approximately 30 minutes after the same meal each day.
Missed Dose:
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you can, but only within 30 minutes after a meal. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose. Do not double the dose.

Overdose:

In case of overdose, seek emergency medical attention or call the Poison Help line.

Precautions:

Avoid taking erectile dysfunction medications like Sildenafil, Avanafil, Viagra, or Cialis while using this medicine.
Do not donate blood while taking Dutasteride and Tamsulosin and for at least 6 months after your last dose, as it could cause birth defects if given to a pregnant woman.
Be cautious when rising from a sitting or lying position to avoid dizziness.
Avoid driving or engaging in hazardous activities until you know how the medication affects you.
Interactions:
Inform your doctor about all medications you are taking, including prescription, over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal products, as some drugs may interact with Dutasteride and Tamsulosin, potentially increasing side effects or making the medications less effective.
